Junior Graphic Designer

Job Description

Graphic Design Halifax Inc. is looking to expand our network of local freelancers who are interested to work with us on various branding, web design, social media and video related projects. This is a remote position, and you will have the flexibility to work from anywhere but you must live in Nova Scotia (preferably Halifax) and speak fluent English.

Core Competencies

  • Collaborate with our creative team to create visual designs for various projects such as logos, marketing collateral, social media graphics, and websites.
    Assist with video editing tasks, including video editing, motion graphics, and sound design.
    Participate in brainstorming sessions and provide creative ideas to enhance project outcomes.
    Manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines and adhering to project timelines.
    Ensure all design elements are consistent with the client's branding guidelines and requirements.
    Stay up-to-date with emerging design trends, software, and technology.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Junior Graphic Designer or similar role.

  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.

  • Experience in video editing software such as Premiere Pro, or After Effects.

  • Knowledge of web design tools such as Shopify and Wix.

  • Understanding of design principles, color theory, and typography.

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with a team.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.

  • A portfolio of work demonstrating design expertise.

Tasks & Responsibilities

  • Design and implement Digital Marketing Strategies

  • Design data collection frameworks, execute these, and provide data-driven actionable insights that impact strategic business decisions.

  • Place digital/online ads. Must have basic knowledge and experience in putting together online ad strategies, implementing (actual ad placement) these on Facebook, Google, and other ad platforms (Twitter, YouTube, LinkedIn), monitoring and optimizing ad performance, and creating performance reports.
